Award Overview

The Tourism Innovation Award recognizes a business, organization, destination, event, or individual that has demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation in developing new products, services, experiences, or initiatives that enhance New Brunswick’s tourism industry.

This award celebrates forward-thinking leaders who challenge traditional approaches, embrace new opportunities, and create innovative solutions that improve visitor experiences, strengthen tourism businesses, and contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the tourism sector.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Nominees must demonstrate excellence in the following areas:

1. Innovation and Creativity

  • Introduces a new or significantly improved tourism product, service, experience, program, or initiative.
  • Demonstrates originality, creativity, and a forward-thinking approach.

2. Impact on Visitor Experience

  • Enhances the quality, accessibility, engagement, or overall experience of visitors.
  • Creates memorable and meaningful tourism experiences.

3. Industry Impact

  • Contributes to the growth, competitiveness, or sustainability of New Brunswick’s tourism industry.
  • Demonstrates positive benefits for tourism operators, communities, or destinations.

4. Measurable Results

  • Provides evidence of success through visitor feedback, increased visitation, revenue growth, market reach, operational improvements, or other measurable outcomes.

5. Sustainability and Future Potential

  • Demonstrates long-term viability and the potential to inspire future innovation within the tourism sector.
  • Shows adaptability to changing visitor expectations and industry trends.

To recognize and celebrate a broader range of individuals, businesses, and organizations within the community, the same recipient may not win the same award category in two consecutive years. This policy is intended to promote greater diversity among award recipients while continuing to recognize excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions throughout the community.

Judging Considerations:

Nominees will be evaluated based on:

  • Originality and uniqueness of the innovation.
  • Effectiveness in addressing a need or opportunity.
  • Demonstrated impact on visitors, businesses, or communities.
  • Measurable results and achievements.
  • Potential for long-term success and industry influence.
  • Contribution to advancing New Brunswick’s tourism industry.

Ideal Recipient:

Tourism businesses, attractions, accommodations, festivals and events, destinations, tourism organizations, community groups, Indigenous tourism operators, who have introduced innovative ideas or solutions within the tourism sector.

Nomination Requirements:

Each nomination package must include:

  1. A completed nomination form.
  2. A written summary (max 750 words) describing the organization and how they meet the criteria for this award.
  3. Supporting documents (e.g., analytics reports, visuals, links to campaigns, testimonials).
  4. Optional: 1–2 letters of support from industry partners or clients.
