Emerit Courses and Training

Tourism HR Canada works hand-in-hand with industry, small businesses, education institutions, and large corporate enterprises, to develop the emerit line of skill training programs.

Training resources from emerit are available for dozens of occupations such as Tour Guide, Front Desk Agent, Supervisor, Taxicab and Limousine Driver, Food & Beverage Server, and many more!

Training Resources may come in multiple or different versions:

• National Occupational Standards are manuals that describe the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be considered competent in an occupation. The standards are set by the industry and are the basis for emerit training and certification programs.
• Online courses are occupation-specific, self-directed training designed to be flexible. Training modules based on National Occupational Standards can be completed when it is convenient for the learner, from any computer with internet access. Online courses are available to learners for one year from the date of activation.

When employees are certified through emerit, they earn a prestigious, national credential that identifies them as a true professional in their occupation, and recognizes the skills, knowledge, pride, and dedication they have brought to their career—and to your business.
