The Small Business Marketing Award recognizes a tourism-related business in New Brunswick with annual revenue or an operating budget not exceeding $500,000 that demonstrates exceptional creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in marketing its products, services, or experiences.

This award celebrates businesses that successfully leverage marketing strategies, digital tools, and compelling storytelling to engage visitors, strengthen their brand, and drive measurable business growth in the last 12 months. It recognizes organizations that contribute to the visibility and success of New Brunswick’s tourism industry through innovative marketing initiatives that inspire travel and enhance the visitor experience.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Nominees must demonstrate excellence in the following areas:

Marketing Innovation and Digital Integration – Utilizes innovative marketing approaches, digital platforms, emerging technologies, or creative campaigns to effectively reach and engage target audiences.

Results and Measurable Impact – Demonstrates clear and measurable outcomes resulting from marketing efforts, including increased visitation, bookings, customer engagement, revenue growth, or brand awareness.

Creativity and Brand Storytelling – Develops original and compelling marketing content, campaigns, or messaging that effectively communicates the business’s unique value and enhances its brand identity.

Audience Engagement and Customer Connection – Successfully connects with target audiences through meaningful interactions, customer-focused content, and strategies that inspire visitation and loyalty.

Tourism Industry Contribution – Contributes positively to the growth and visibility of New Brunswick’s tourism sector through destination promotion, partnerships, collaboration, or market development efforts.

Continuous Improvement and Adaptability – Demonstrates a commitment to evolving marketing practices, responding to market trends, and continuously improving performance through data-driven decision-making.

To recognize and celebrate a broader range of individuals, businesses, and organizations within the community, the same recipient may not win the same award category in two consecutive years. This policy is intended to promote greater diversity among award recipients while continuing to recognize excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions throughout the community.

Judging Considerations:

Nominees will be evaluated based on:

  • Innovation and effectiveness of marketing strategies, campaigns, and digital tools.
  • Demonstrated results supported by measurable performance indicators such as website traffic, social media engagement, bookings, visitation, sales growth, or media reach.
  • Creativity, originality, and strength of branding, messaging, and storytelling.
  • Success in engaging audiences and building customer awareness, loyalty, and advocacy.
  • Contributions to tourism promotion, destination awareness, and industry collaboration within New Brunswick.
  • Evidence of strategic planning, adaptability, and continuous improvement in marketing efforts.
  • Overall impact of marketing initiatives on business success and tourism growth.

Ideal Recipients:

Tourism operators, accommodations, attractions, tour companies, restaurants, experience providers, retail businesses, and other tourism-related enterprises in New Brunswick with annual revenue or an operating budget not exceeding $500,000 that demonstrate excellence in marketing, innovation, audience engagement, and business growth.

Nomination Requirements:

Each nomination package must include:

  1. A completed nomination form.
  2. A written summary (max 750 words) describing the marketing strategy and its outcomes.
  3. Supporting documents (e.g., analytics reports, visuals, links to campaigns, testimonials).
  4. Optional: 1–2 letters of support from industry partners or clients.
