Free Contact Tracing app
The Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick (TINAB) has partnered with communication and engagement technology provider, SimplyCast, to provide a safe, hands-free, and automated check-in and contact tracing solution to its members using QR code functionality. Signed-up members will be able to use this contact tracing app free of charge. Visitors to an establishment can “check in” to register their visit for contact tracing purposes by scanning a provided QR code and filling out a short, secure form with their contact information required by New Brunswick’s Mandatory Order.
About the Self-Check-in and Contract Tracing App
SimplyCast is providing TIANB members with free access to the contact tracing application as a way to give back to the community and assist in the fight against COVID-19. Upon signing up, members will be provided with a pre-built form and associated QR code that can be used to collect contact tracing information from their visitors. Using the contact information collected via the app, TIANB members can access the system in the event of a possible exposure to determine which visitors checked in to the location within the specified exposure window.

How the App Works
Visitors to an establishment will be presented with a QR (quick response) code at the entrance, and, using their mobile device, scan it to receive a short registration form asking for their contact information.
What if somebody does not have a phone?
- You can take down the visitor’s name and contact information and input it manually into the system or;
- If you have a tablet or device that is accessible, the visitor can fill out a web form that will be provided to you when you sign up.
Privacy and Information Security
In this digital era, even a contact detail as simple as the cellphone number can be misused in many ways. Therefore, it is important to know that the digital contact tracing solution you use is secure, as having a vulnerable solution may jeopardize visitors’ online security. SimplyCast uses enterprise-grade security and maintains industry-leading ISO 27001:2013 certification. SimplyCast also has military-grade message encryption and rigorous access control permissions within the solution to ensure only authorized users have access to collected contact data.
TIANB Members who sign up to use the SimplyCast contact tracing app must not use any contact data collected via the app for any purpose other than contact tracing. Accounts found to be in violation of this will be shut down immediately.
Communicating to Your Visitors
You can download a poster to print and post at your establishment that shows guests coming in the steps to check-in (for contact tracing). Make sure to post it someplace visible and encourage everyone entering to scan the QR code and fill out the form.
